Lover Undercover: A Love Undercover Novel (Entangled: Brazen)

Lover Undercover - Samanthe Beck 4-1/2 stars, but I'm rounding up for the lap dances.

You guise. You guise. Ya'll know how much I loved Samanthe Beck's debut Private Practice and how I flailed all over the place for Tyler. He's one of my favorite guys, ever.

Guess what? I love Trevor, too! He's hot. Like meltyouintoapileofgoohot.
After pressing her forearms to the door, he kissed his way down her back, pausing to unhook her bra. She shivered as it sprang open. Kneeling behind her, he sent his hands around to her breasts again and got to work there while his tongue slide over the curve of her spine.

I had to stop there or I would have quoted a lot, and I want you to read this book!!!

Yoga instructor Kylie has to step in for her twin sister, Stacy, when she breaks her leg. Problem is, Stacy's a stripper, but they need the money to survive. Kylie meets sexy cop Trevor McCade her first night on the job, and sparks fly with their very first private dance. There's chemistry and mystery when Kylie discovers a dead body outside of the club. Of course, Detective McCade is on the job and is determined to figure out who's behind the murder, even if it means pushing aside his fledgling feelings for Kylie to find out what she's hiding.

I just want to throw in my two cents about how much I loved these characters. You know how you'll read something and the MC is all whiny about how "he can't really want me" and "I'm not good enough" and just ugh. That doesn't happen here.
Had they met at a different time, under different circumstances, who knows what they might have meant to each other? But they'd met over lies and murder. The combination doomed their chances for something else. Trevor upheld the lay. He wasn't the kind of man who would appreciate being deceived.

Sure, Kylie gets upset when she realizes that she could have real feelings for Trevor, but the girl he thinks he's falling for isn't her--she's the complete opposite of her sister. I loved that her reactions and the way she felt about everything was authentic. She was vulnerable for a reason, not because the author needed a plot device. Yay for that.

There were a couple of things that I didn't love, mainly the use of the word "moist" and some technical terms, but overall, I loved this book.

And can I just stop for a second and tell you how happy I am that we got a glimpse of the future at the end of this book? So often, the conflict is resolved and then bam! the end. Not here. Beck didn't go on and on, but she did give us enough of a glimpse to be *ahem* satisfied with their futures. Also--the ending? Perfect! I loved it so much! For the awesome characters, the fun storyline, and the steamy steaminess, I seriously cannot wait to read more from this author, and I'm so glad that we'll get to see more of these characters in the future.
