3-1/2 stars. I think.
So, remember how much
I loved Spellbound and begged for more of these characters? Yeah, me too. What we got, though, wasn't really what I was expecting.
I still love Emma and Brendan. I still love their interaction with each other. I still think he's totally swoon-worthy and she's totally kick-ass. But I didn't love the plot of this story, and though it seems there won't be more of them, this felt like a middle-of-the-trilogy book to me. There's an evil force trying to come between Emma and Brendan, so there's some mystery, but it's very predictable. Fortunately, there's a lot of making out, which I loved:
"The way you're leaning over me like that, there's nothing funny about what I'd like to do with you..."
Overall, I really liked it, even though it isn't as much as I loved Spellbound. I definitely want more of them and find myself again, pleading with Shultz for another book.
