Cucina Povera: Tuscan Peasant Cooking

Cucina Povera: Tuscan Peasant Cooking - Pamela Sheldon Johns I spent six weeks in Italy a few years ago, so I know first-hand how important the cuisine is to the people that live there. It's a way of life for them. The pictures in this book of the countrysides and the ingredients were pretty, but I didn't feel that the recipes and the foods offered were very enticing. I would have liked for there to be more pictures of the completed recipes and more food that I personally would want to cook for my family.

If you're looking for a coffee table book or something that will look good on the shelves in your kitchen, this is the book for you. If you want authentic Italian recipes that will have your friends and family raving your prowess in the kitchen, move along.
