I've never read a book quite like this one.

Four separate novellas that make up one compelling story. This would make an amazing movie.

I don't really know what I can say about the plot without giving everything away, so I'll tell you about the overall storyline. From the very beginning, we know that Abigail Shelton is dead. She was found in the pool at her boyfriend's house, by his cousin. Everyone is trying to figure out what happened.

Charles is Abby's boyfriend's cousin. Whew! That was a mouthful! So is he. I feel like we get most of the background for the story from Charles, and while he was my favorite character, he was definitely holding back on us.

Next we have Palmer. I'm not gonna lie, guise, I hated her. She goes to school with Charles, Abby, Mason, and Rowan. I can't really tell you anything about her without giving away too much, but just...ugh!

After Palmer, we get Mason's side of things. Known to everyone as Ace, his character seemed to be the least explored to me, but the most authentic. I really loved how he was vulnerable and insecure but still managed to be a total dick.

Finally, we get Rowan's side of things. I didn't like her, either. lol But, her story makes a lot of sense and gives us a good picture of not only what happened, but how things happened to get all of the characters to where they are.

There were a few things that didn't add up for me, but I really enjoyed this quick, hot read with lots of fun, high-schoolish angst. (You know that's my favorite kind.) I had fun figuring out how all of the pieces fit into this puzzle. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from Twist Literary. Check this one out.
